KIRK FLINTOFF spreads his wings and takes the first place of La Santa Surf Pro 04!

The decision has been taken this morning to run the whole round of 32, the quarters, semis and final of this WQS 4* contest as good waves and wind conditions were offered on the famous spot of San Juan. Poor swell forecast decided the organizers to keep only the 3 heats of the Davidoff Cool Water Xpression Session for tomorrow.

3-4 feet waves were breaking this morning on the beach of San Juan and the 32 surfers left showed incredible performances of this great lefthander. Yan Holzer - ASP Tour Rep - comments:"This is undoubtedly the highest level of surfing in a professional contest in the canaries and one of the most new school European WQS contest of the season."

Kirk "airways" Flintoff blew everyone's minds with massive reverse 360s and progressive surfing on the long walls of San Juan. Scoring 6 of the best 10 waves of the day, he was the most incredible surfer and took the first place in a stressful finish. He comments:"I'm so stoked! I'm now qualified for the WCT! I knew I had to do a big result here and I showed my best surf."

30 minutes of an intense final between aerial maestro Kirk Flintoff, brazilian Rodrigo Dornelles, South African Paul Canning and European champion Justin Mujica ended a great day of surfing. The last wave of the contest decided the fate of each of these 4 top surfers as Kirk took the final wave of the heat and spread his tail two times on the two sections. The deal was done.

The best Spanish performance is to be given to Pablo Solar and hot local Jose Maria Cabrera who both lost in their heats of the round of 32.

16 surfers have entered the Davidoff Cool Water Xpression Session that will take place tomorrow at 11 am. 2 000 U$D for the 3 highest riders of the day. Let the show must go on!
